This would have been an exciting week at Moonbeams, we hope that by sharing some of the fun things we would have been doing, you can give them a go at home instead!
If you have a printer at home, you can print off pictures of birds (if not, you could draw some pictures) and hide them around your home. Then, using your binoculars (could be made from taping together two toilet/ kitchen roll holders) go on a bird watching tour of your home, and see how many birds you can find together.
Create a tally chart to see how many birds fly past your window/ land in your garden- this is a great opportunity for practising our counting skills!
It is a tradition to wear red on Chinese New Year, as it symbolises good luck, fortune and health. Why not see if your child can pick their own clothes to wear today? See if they are able to find any red items to wear.
Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day (Tuesday 16th February)
Have a ‘pancake flipping competition’ using playdough pancakes and a small frying pan, see how high you can flip it and if you can catch it again! You can find a simple playdough recipe here- https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/playdough-recipe
Create a fruity face on your pancake, can you add the eyes, nose, mouth, you could even add some hair?
